Production Steps:

1. Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, black garlic paste, soy sauce, and olive oil. Season with black pepper to taste. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice or zest for a brighter flavor, or a pinch of red pepper flakes for a kick.

2. Marinate the Salmon (Optional):  For extra flavor, you can marinate the salmon fillets in the glaze for 15-30 minutes. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the glaze over them, coating them evenly. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

3. Cook the Salmon: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If you didn’t marinate the salmon, brush both sides of the fillets with the glaze. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the salmon fillets on top, skin-side down if using skin-on salmon.

4. Bake the Salmon: Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes for skinless fillets, or 15-20 minutes for skin-on fillets, depending on the thickness. The salmon is cooked through when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

5. Glaze the Salmon (Optional): During the last few minutes of cooking, you can brush the salmon with additional glaze to create a thicker and more caramelized crust.

6. Serve:  Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Plate the salmon and drizzle any remaining glaze from the pan over the top. Serve with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or quinoa.

Tips:

You can find black garlic cloves at some specialty stores or online. If you can’t find them, you can substitute with regular garlic cloves, but the flavor will be slightly different. To roast your own black garlic, follow instructions online (it’s a time-consuming process).

Be careful not to overcook the salmon, or it will become dry.

Feel free to adjust the amount of black garlic paste or honey to your taste preferences.
