Spicy Squid Stir Fry

Ingredients:

Squid:

1 pound fresh squid, cleaned and cut into rings

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon salt

Sauce:

2 tablespoons Korean chili pepper paste (gochujang)

1 tablespoon Korean chili pepper flakes (gochugaru)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon minced ginger

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Spicy Squid Stir Fry

Vegetables:

1 onion, sliced

1 carrot, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

2 green onions, chopped

Equipment:

Large skillet or wok

Cutting board

Knife

Instructions:

Prepare the Squid:

1. In a bowl, combine the squid rings, cornstarch, and salt. Toss to coat evenly.

Prepare the Sauce:

1. In a small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients and set aside.

Cook the Squid:

1. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat.

2. Add a tablespoon of oil to the hot pan.

3. Add the squid rings and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until cooked through and slightly browned.

4. Remove the squid from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables:

1. Add the sliced onion, carrot, and green bell pepper to the hot pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Spicy Squid Stir Fry

Combine and Finish:

1. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the prepared sauce to the empty space. Stir to combine.

2. Add the cooked squid back to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.

3. Stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened and coated all the ingredients.

4. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Tips:

For a spicier dish, add more gochugaru or use a hotter chili pepper paste.

You can adjust the sweetness of the dish by adding more or less sugar.

For added flavor, you can include other vegetables such as broccoli or mushrooms.

Serve with steamed rice for a complete meal.
